Rogers Maternity Shoot

This was my first maternity shoot and I had too much fun.  I think maternity shoots are fun because you can be more creative with the angles.  Congrats J and CR and I can't wait to meet the little one!

Yeah, so see that water behind J?  Yeah, I lost my shoe in that.  Don't worry I saved it!

I had the idea for them to bring an ultrasound picture and was even more excited when I saw it because you can see the baby's face so clearly!

This location was special to them because it is where they had their wedding pictures done and right by their brother's house where they were married.  {Not to mention, this is the very dock where my husband and I discussed marriage before the official proposal}.

Thanks guys!  I wish I was going to be here to photograph your little one in February!

Skogen Family

Meaghan and Scott are pretty much the best couple ever!!!  They were our best friends before we moved down to Florida so I was thrilled when they wanted some pictures while we were visiting them here in NC.  I pretty much love all the wonderful photo locations around here.  There are endless possibilities.  I must admit my favorite type of location is an urban setting.  I was in heaven in an alley made just for me.  I am not going to lie.  It was cold - in the 20's!  Okay, so here are some of my favorites!

Isn't she beautiful?

My favorite junk alley EVER.

Love this.

Sparks Family

You can read the post below this for a few more pictures of the Sparks family.  I love how real this family is.  Thanks for trusting me and letting me do my thang while I dragged you guys all around dumpsters!

Siblings- a bond that can't be broken.

This spot is a dream come true for urban, pink portraits for girls!!!  If you have a daughter and want portraits done, this would be a cool place!

I loved every single "couple" shot of the parents!

REAL LIFE

The theme of the Sparks' photo shoot was real life, and I mean that in a good way.  Of course we got some good "posed shots" which hopefully I will be posting within the next two days, but I think looking back on family photos you also want to remember the funny and hard times as well.  Life with three kids is not always easy, and that is reality.

So, without further adieu, enjoy one shot of real life.  :)

And, I couldn't resist posting these two cuties!  Such posers!  More coming in the next two days!

Another Before and After

Sometimes we just need that extra push and desire to want to learn new things.  This week I have been on fire wanting to learn more!  I had been okay with my editing process for awhile (and too busy to take the time to change anything), but with some extra time I have had this week I have loved learning new ways to edit images.  Using an inverted layer mask I made this photo stand out more.
